"Native Cinderella" velveteen blankets, artwork by the owner of Native Anthro. This artwork is as much a creation story as it is a fairy tale. There are various interpretations of Cinderella throughout the world going back thousands of years. We have one similar as well. The magpies and blue jays represent the time when the land was covered in ice. It was a time of change, when animals spoke and walked around like humans. The mountain behind her is a sacred place tied to a period when the great floods came and all the animals and foods sought refuge on that mountain. It is still used as a weathervane to our people today. This is a nod to several oral histories significant to Yakama people.
Do not dry clean. Wash on delicate, tumble dry low. Reccomend washing before first use as it gets fluffier.
